The aims of the project are to promote the development of education for and dissemination of knowledge on teacher competencies involved in designing and managing language learning arrangements for distributed learners (network-based language teaching).
To this end models, guidelines and project-materials will be developed to support teacher education organisations and affiliate schools to provide student teachers and in-service teachers with opportunities to develop competencies relevant for moderating (specific forms of) collaborative language learning.
These materials are meant to contribute to making the Teacher Education curriculum more competence based by offering opportunities for practical experiences in network-based (language) learning and the actual use of web platforms through workplace related experiences and reflections.
At the same time this approach also offers opportunities for integration of technology training in educational training.
Project Results
The MICaLL deliverables are course project modules for initial and in-service teacher training and a web platform to facilitate the trans-national collaboration involved.
The materials will be the results of the evaluation of and reflections on experiments and (pilot)projects to be carried out by the project partners.
