Maria Beatrice Ligorio
Associate Professor (University of Bari )

Maria Beatrice Ligorio is Associate Professor at the University of Bari (Italy). She graduated in Psychology at the University of Rome in the 1987 and she received her PhD in Psychology of Communication at the University of Bari in the 1999. In the 1993 she was a NATO fellow at the University of Berkeley (CA).  In the 1999 she received an Marie Curie grant to develop virtual educational environments at the University of Nijmegen  (NL). From 2005 to 2010 she was the president of the Collaborative Knowledge Building Group (www.ckbg.org); she is now vice-president. From 2008 to 2011 she was in the executive of the International Society of Activity Research (I.S.C.A.R.) (www.iscar.org). She is currently co-coordinator of the Special Interest Group on Learning and Instruction with Computers  http://www.earli.org/special_interest_groups/learning

Her main research interests are: educational technology, digital identity, dialogical learning, blended communities, intersubjectivity, learning organization. She participated to many international and national projects.  

She published over 50 articles in national and international journals

She is the main editor of a journal called Qwerty and she is in the editorial board of the Learning, Culture and Social Interaction http://www.journals.elsevier.com/learning-culture-and-social-interaction/
